The Dutch labour union for educational staff, the AOb, has started an inventory to gather data about ‘contract inflation’ among temporary and early career academics. ‘Contract inflation relates to situations in which you are expected to work more hours than you are paid for, conduct structural work while being on a fixed-term contract and when you are expected to perform actions that is not in accordance to their position or job level, but belongs to more senior members of staff.
